Jim Ross, along with longtime broadcast partner Jerry Lawler, has been calling the action on Monday Nights for as long as we can remember. Since Ross has been added to the SmackDown! series, Good Ol' JR brings his Bah Gawds, Government Mules, and Scolded Dogs to gamers everywhere. Though Jim Ross is non-playable in every SmackDown! game, he is usually involved in more ways than just calling the action.
WWE SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler proceed Tazz and Michael Cole in SmackDown!: Shut Your Mouth. While Ross is primarily in the game to call the action, he is seen on screen various times throughout Season Mode.
Ross can be seen backstage and will approach you about touring with WWE to England. He will also offer you a push for the WWE Championship in one storyline.
WWE SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain
Ross, along with Lawler, returns to the commentary booth again for WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes the Pain. However, this time his voice is not provided as commentary was taken out.
Ross can be involved in the Season Mode in a variety of ways. The most memorable of this is when WWE visits Oklahoma for an edition of RAW. Eric Bischoff will abuse Jim Ross in front of his hometown and you can have the option of saving him. Longtime friend of Ross, Jerry Lawler, will also get involved and even team with you, which leads to a first in the SmackDown! series - a match that involves a NPC as your tag team partner.
WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW
Commentary returns to the SmackDown! series, which naturally means Jim Ross is back. Ross returned to be behind the announcers booth once again to call the action. With both brands each having commentators, players got to choose to have either Tazz and Michael Cole or Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.

WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007
Comically, in WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2007, there were huge glitches with the commentary which mainly involved Jim Ross. At almost every finishing move he would shout "Stone Cold Stunner! Stone Cold Stunner! My god what a move" Despite the fact you were actually doing the Batista bomb or some other move. He would also talk about superstars that weren't even involved in the match from time to time.
