Background

A Battle Royal is an elimination contest, in which most matches the way to be eliminated is being thrown over the top rope, with both feet touching the outside floor. In the games however, battle royals are also contested under pinfall or submission. In WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 and 2007, there is the ability to choose either a Battle Royal with pin or one with the over-the-top-rope rules as seperate types of matches. In SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008, you can edit the option in the match settings. In 2008, the 5-man Battle Royal has also been scrapped.
