Kurt Angle is one of the most successful wrestlers in WWE history, recognized as one of the premiere technical experts in the sport. Before entering professional wrestling, Angle had already established himself as an amateur wrestler, winning a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. After a quick stint in Extreme Championship Wrestling, in 2000, he joined the World Wrestling Federation and quickly climbed up the ranks. He held just about every championship available to him. Within his first year with the company he managed to win his first WWF World Championship at No Mercy 2000 and went on to successfully retain it in the infamous six man Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon 2000. Angle's most recent title reign was in January of 2006 when he won the World Heavyweight Championship in 20 man over the top rope battle royal on SmackDown!, but went on to lose it to the 2006 Royal Rumble winner Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania 22.
In 2007, Angle left World Wrestling Entertainment to join Total Nonstop Action, and has also climbed to the top of that promotion's ladder, capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship only three months after his debut. He remains there to this day.

Technical is the best word to describe Kurt Angle's wrestling style, so it's only fitting that his move-set shows this. Hold R1 and move the right analogue stick either right or left to execute a Technical grapple. You'll find a lot of classic Angle moves here, including 2 variations of Belly-to-Belly and 3 variations of the German Suplex. If you want to finish your opponent off with the Ankle Lock then the Leg Lock (Hold R1 and move the right analogue stick down, then tap the right analogue stick to the left) and the Step Over Toe Hold (when your opponents on the ground, stand near his legs and tap the right analogue stick to the left) are the best moves to damage your opponents legs.
Angle's Ankle Lock finisher is easy to execute, when your opponent is on the floor, stand near his legs and press L1. For the Angle Slam you have to be behind your opponent while he's groggy, the best way to execute this is by running at your opponent and tapping the right analogue stick either left or right to duck behind him, then quickly tap L1. You have to be quick to tap L1, as your opponent is only groggy for a split second.
Kurt's a Heavyweight, his overall of 95 is the second highest on the game (only Hogan's overall is higher) and with a submission attribute of 10 he's likely to be a favourite in any submission match. Overall Kurt can match up to any other wrestler on this game and if you're experienced enough in the Smackdown series his high Submission and Technical attributes can be used to a great advantage.
