Now a common occurance at Wrestlemania shows, THQ brought the entertaining Money in the Bank match to WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2007 and it was also featured in WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2008, so we can imagine the matchtype is now a regular occurance in the series. It is, in essence a Ladder Match in which six superstars battle it out.

To coincide with the new matchtype, the whole Ladder Match system was also changed in the 2007 edition, using analog sticks to find a sweet spot to bring the belt down faster. There was also much more that could be done with the ladders themselves, including placing the ladder horizontally to run along it and putting the ladder upon you're head and spinning like a madman.

Real-life winners of this matchtype are Edge, Rob Van Dam, Mr Kennedy and CM Punk. 3 out of these 4 have successfully cashed it in. Edge defeating John Cena at New Years Revolution in 2006 and Rob Van Dam, defeating John Cena at One Night Stand 2006. CM Punk defeated Edge on a RAW episode to to become World Heavyweight champion. Mr. Kennedy lost his MITB in a match against Edge who later cashed it in for another successful time against the bruised and battered Undertaker.
