WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2009 marks the 10th game in the SmackDown! series. It contains the biggest roster in the series' history despite being the first game since Shut Your Mouth! to not include Legends. It holds over 70 wrestlers spanning from the regular roster, Divas, Unlockables and Downloadable Content. Two new match-types have been introduced this year, the long awaited Inferno Match and the Guantlet Match in which you'll face 3 different opponents one after the other. Both 24/7 Mode and GM Mode have been scraped for 2009 in favour of Road to WrestleMania and Career Mode with other big new features including Highlight Reel and Create a Finisher.

Create a Finisher

It's one of the biggest selling points to Smackdwon vs RAW 2009 in the eyes of many, Create a Finisher allows you to create your own finishing moves linking up to 10 out of 500+ animations together and the choice to speed up or slow down each animation. Unfortunately CAF is limited to face-to-face finishers only, however this is the developer first attempt at it and we can only hope for an inclusion of turnbuckle, ground and aerial finishers in future games.

Tag Team Improvments

Tag Team Finishers - When a one man finisher just isn't enough, why not get your partner involved to help finish off your opponent, this will endure more damage to the opponent.

Ring Apron Control - Even when your not the legal man you can still help out your partner by distracting the ref, grabbing your opponent or just by taunting to the fans to increase the tag team momentum bar. You can also go into the ring and fight for a limited time when you aren't tagged in, but watch for the DQ.

Hot Tag - Fill your momentum bar then tag in your partner and watch him unleash hell on both your opponents.

Forced Tag - Sick of watching your partner from the apron? Now you can tag yourself into the match.
