John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL for short) has gained an impressive amount of achievements throughout his wrestling career, a former Hardcore, United States and Tag Team Champion, but perhaps no bigger achievement than his 9-month reign as WWE Champion. The self-proclaimed “Wrestling God” spent his reign as champion fending off the likes of The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero and Booker T before losing the title to John Cena at Wrestlemania 21.
Since then, JBL has been an impressive force both in and outside of the ring, taking time off to serve as color commentator for SmackDown! alongside Michael Cole, before returning to the ring as an upper-midcarder on Monday Night RAW. JBL retired from in-ring action in 2009 and is currently working as a commentator in WWE.
Bradshaw debuts with the game and has the APA stable with his long-time tag team partner, Faarooq
WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role
Bradshaw is put into the Hardcore Title Rankings and the APA are in the Tag Team Rankings.
WWF SmackDown: Just Bring It
Bradshaw & Farooq appear in Story Mode as the APA. You could run into them in their "office" and get protection from them. You could also end up facing them in a handicap match if you aren't careful. Their "office" is featured as a backstage area to fight in.
WWE SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth
With the APA now broken up due to the draft, Bradshaw appears with his cowboy character. He is the default Hardcore Champion. This is the last game Bradshaw appears in under that name and gimmick uuntil WWE '13.

The move-set really shows the two different styles of JBL that we have come to know. There’s the Brawler style (Hold R1 and move the right analogue stick left), which consists of aggressive, roughneck attacks such as Outlaw stomp (in a Brawler grapple, move the right analogue stick right) and the Fury Punch (in a Brawler grapple, move the right analogue stick down). The Old School grapple (Hold R1 and move the right analogue stick right) shows the clever side to JBL’s wrestling style with effective moves such as the Russian Leg-Sweep (in a Old School grapple, move the right analogue stick right) and the Knee Breaker (in a Old School grapple, move the right analogue stick left).
JBL’s powerbomb is simple to execute, simply stand in front of your opponent while he’s groggy and tap L1. However the Clothesline from Hell is not as easy, you have to run at your opponent then tap L1 when close to him to execute it properly. If you’re not in the perfect position or you press L1 too early there’s a good chance you’ll miss your opponent completely. Because an instant pin follows the Clothesline from Hell, it can become a nuisance in environments such as Last Man Standing and Ladder matches because you’re opponent gets up instantly after the finisher.
Being a Super Heavyweight, JBL cannot be picked up by cruiserweights or any weight class below. His Hardcore attribute of 8.5 can come as a real advantage in matches such as Hardcore or Backstage Brawl.

WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2008
JBL contains the "Brawler" and "Powerhouse" fighting styles, thus he'll be able to damage his opponents easily through strikes and powerhouse-based grapple moves. He can strong irish-whip and generally his strength will help to get rid of his opponents in an effective manner.
