He’s one half of one of the greatest tag teams the WWE history and is now attempting success as a singles wrestler. Matt Hardy along with his brother Jeff is a 6-time WWE Tag Team Champion in a duo called The Hardy Boyz. The Hardyz' extreme popularity grew from the unique moves they used in Ladder matches and the infamous TLC matches. Matt has also gained a few singles belts such as the Cruiserweight, Hardcore and European Championships and looks certain to have more success in the future on the ECW brand. Hardy was drafted to ECW after he and his brother Jeff were defeated by Miz and Morrison at the WWE Draft. Hardy parted ways with WWE in 2010 and wrestled with TNA as well as other promotions around the world until April 2, 2017 where he and his brother Jeff won a Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match for the RAW Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 33, beating Enzo & Cass, Cesaro & Sheamus (The Bar) and the defending champions Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.

Since then Matt has debuted his "Woken" gimmick that was quite successful outside of WWE, and has been quite successful with it, including a Tag Team Championship win with Bray Wyatt.

Matt Hardy has been included in every SmackDown! game except SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006.

Matt hitting Gregory Helms with the side effect
Matt’s move-set consists of a Technical (Hold R1 and flick the right analogue stick left) and an Old School grapple (Hold R! and flick the right analogue stick right). Within these grapples you’ll find a lot of basic, but effective moves, however very few of these moves inflict damage to the head of your opponent so if you want to finish him off with a Twist of Fate the Clean grapple is the place to go. You can only use the clean grapple (Hold R1 and flick the analogue stick up) if you select the Clean fighting style when selecting your wrestler. In the clean grapple you can execute the DDT and the Neckbreaker, both of these will do severe damage to your opponents head.

To execute the Twist of Fate 1 simply stand in front of your opponent while he’s groggy and tap L1, to execute the Twist of Fate 2 do exactly the same however for this you have to tap L1 while moving the analogue stick in any direction. Both these finisher inflict the same amount of damage, the only difference is that the Twist of Fate 1 has a longer taunt before the move is executed.
